I forced myself to get through the Clarkson series because I’m not a quitter but I spent a lot of time rolling my eyes throughout this book. So Belmont and Sage go to Louisiana because Sage needs to take care of her family and their debt by taking over her dad’s mining job. And then Belmont takes over for Sage because he doesn’t want her working in the mine despite the fact that he has a phobia of being in enclosed spaces because of his childhood accident. So instead of ….i don’t know, taking out a loan from a bank to pay off this debt, they have to take over a job they aren’t trained for like indentured servants or something. Then the mine owner wants to marry Sage and she says yes because it’ll somehow save everyone from the choices they’ve made. I don’t know, this seemed like a weird situation to put yourself in and could have been solved easily instead of replacing each other working in a mine. Then Belmont and Sage want to be together but don’t want to be together because they rely on each other too much.  But they end up together and still rely on each other but say they are in healthier situations and not too reliant on each other?  Yeah that’s it. Then the Clarksons jump in the ocean and their significant others that they all picked up during this road trip are all there and they live happily ever after or something.

A great wrap-up to a great series. These books were so good! I was eagerly awaiting this book as Belmont was my favorite of the Clarkson siblings and it did not disappoint. We finally get some answers about what happened in his past to make him so anxious and closed off and we get to understand the dynamic between him and Sage. Belmont is the sweetest man I swear
