Better than expected. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the fake-romance-turns-real plot, especially if the characters have decent backstories. I also liked how the main characters’ cultures were woven seamlessly into the storyline.

I really really wanted to like this book, but as a woman who would be considered similar to Daisy in real life, I found all of her character motivations just...lacking?? Both of the families were infuriating and stereotypical, and the pacing was both too fast and too slow? There was too much happening in a short period of time for me to get invested. I ended up skimming through the rest of the book to find out what happened on prom night....really? That was it? And she really held a grudge even though her brother gave this emotional apology to her on Liam's behalf?
Above all else, I just think the story was hard to follow because there were too many characters and too much else happening at the same time

She’s done it again! This book was so cute and fun. I thought the back story of the characters was appropriately explored, with enough secrets to keep you reading. I loved the intensity in their love story.

I love a good romantic comedy and this one definitely gave me some moments of laughing out loud. I felt like it was rushed in the beginning. Obviously completely contrived and unrealistic but that doesn’t bother me in this particular genre. The love scenes were hot! If, like me, you need something lighter in between heavy your reads this is a good choice.
This is my first read by Sara Desai and I found this to be a quick and sweet read. I was really drawn to and enjoyed the aspect of an unrequited crush turning into the chance of real love vis a vis a fake engagement. Daisy Patel and Liam Murphy quickly form an attachment when
Daisy gets caught up in a moment. Their lives will never be the same.
What follows are hijinks and shenanigans as they navigate their dating life. They have a past and Liam is atoning for the hurt he caused her. The arrangement is mutually beneficial but there's more at stake for Liam. Meanwhile Daisy is just trying to keep her family from planning a wedding as part of an arranged marriage to another man. Daisy loves a plan, just not that one.
There's family drama on both sides that impacts their prospects at happiness with each other. It's not an entirely easy ride as mistakes are made and will need to be rectified in order for them stop planning for an HEA and start living it. 3.5 stars and recommendation.

Well, this was just an absolutely delightful book to finish up my April TBR list! This romantic comedy was light, funny and full of emotion. The author did such a great making the enemies to lovers trope realistic and genuine. You just can't help liking the characters and their frailties. There were times that you wanted to jump into the pages and talk some relationship sense into them, but isn't that half the fun of a romantic comedy? ⠀

Put this one on your May tbr if you want a sweet escape that is sure to put a smile on your face and allow you to believe in the human condition.

It was fun and overly cheesy. Some of the scenes were so over the top that it made them hilarious, but sometimes that it was just cringy. Overall, I enjoyed it. I have a big bone to pick with whoever decided to let “half time” happen when they were at a hockey game. Hockey doesn’t have halftimes and it really took me out of the magic of the book.
