It sucks. The plot is so repetitive and boring atp. And the deep dive into something that could be turned into One whole book is so boring. I hate the main character because even after proving herself so many times she still doesn’t believe in her self. AFTER 4 BOOKS. I can’t read this anymore and I’m done waiting for the last book to postpone AGAIN.

Felt like a different author wrote this book. Laurie's writing has advanced significantly since book one.
This book was absolutely riveting the whole time. This author is very talented at getting you to feel all the love for multiple characters and this book hit me hard emotionally. The last quarter of the book was all action and more emotions. If you haven't read any of the Black Witch Chronicles you should its an absolutely stunning series so far. If you have been reading the book I promise you book 4 does not disappoint in the least all it does is have you wish book 5 was already out.
3.75 but I'm rounding up.
**Spoilers**
I have conflicted feelings about this book. Parts of it I absolutely loved, the writing is beautiful and descriptive as always, but others fell very flat for me.
I wasn't invested in all the romantic sub plots, I fully understand the point of them, but not all translated well for me, and that took away from the ones I was really invested in.
I loved Trystans POV and his story/journey. While the multiple POV wasn't as jarring as book 3 , it still felt slightly excessive.
I found the main love triangle so uncomfortable and it's probably because of how drastic the back and forth has been. How many times is Elloren going to presume whomever she's currently bonded to is dead...? And immediately bond with the next. It just doesn't compute for me. Maybe I feel slightly betrayed, it's hard to say lol
While parts of this book weren't my favourite, it was still a fantastic read. I can't wait see where the next installment takes us.

slow-paced
Love the story, but it’s a little slow for me.
This is by far my least favourite book in the series. I honestly feel like you could skip over the first 80% of the book, and still get a firm grasp of where the story is going. It was a slog to get through, with too many of the chapters focusing on side characters travelling here and there without anything really happening. Hopefully book #5 will be better.

Love this series so much! This book is very slow with lots of build up but it’s still a gripping story. The world building and imagery in this series is simply incredible
