I’ve got really mixed feelings about this book. Overall, the premise is good but I felt it had Shadow and Bone vibes to it? Also, the characters were great, but I felt like they were see through, like they were a mix of character tropes that just missed the mark a tiny bit.

Like 3/4 of the way through is when it really started to come together, which was great. The last 70 pages were like a slap to the face with action which was good, I just wished that it was like that all the way through. Was left confused as to what the hell happened at the end though.

More than likely going to read the rest of this series as I want to know what happens next.

Went into this not knowing a lot about it, but it was a very interesting read. In my opinion this is the kinda book/series that you would only ever want to read once in your life. but over all it was a good book, a lot of the words were hard to understand, wish that there was a little word bank at the back so you remeber what the words meant.
