Recommending: Sure

Short Review: Seriously, worst ending yet. So Nancy just finds this lady, easily i may add, then just tracks her down at the damn airport and just says nah girl, don't go and the lady says ok... wow. And that Mrs. Skeets character, she needs to be just killed, for real, and her husband, he is messed up, talks and dresses like a Sailor even when not on duty.... Messed up.

Am I ever going to be too old for my good old friend Nancy? The answer is a resounding NO! love this book for all that it is.

There are two Nancy Drews! After being delivered a letter to a Nancy Smith Drew, Nancy commits a federal offense and opens someone Else's mail. This leads to the discovery that the other Nancy Drew has recently inherited a large sum of money. This leads Nan to find her along with the excitement of a new mystery.

I really liked this installment of the series because it had a race against time aspect to it not only to find Nancy Smith Drew but also to stop her from marrying a gold digger. This almost felt like a episode of The Dating Game gone wrong; a contestant being yanked off stage. As for the gold digger himself, he came off like Max Bialystock from The Producers asking little old ladies to make their checks out to CASH. Of course Nancy solves the case but only after she is drugged, blacking-out and nearly missing a very important plane flight to New York. But all ends well with Miss Drew being given lots of warm fuzzys and a glint in her eye awaiting her next mystery.

Nancy, Bess, and George have returned from a visit to Red Gate Farm with their arms loaded with fresh produce. They have settled in at Nancy's for tea when Ira Dixon, the postman, arrives with a letter for her from England. Nancy knows he is retiring after many years of service and so coaxes him into the house for a cup of tea, despite it being against regulations. After the brief visit, to their dismay, they discover Mr. Dixon's post-bag has been stolen! Nancy is implicated in the theft and Dixon's pension and reputation are on the line.

Later, she opens her letter and discovers that someone with the name of Nancy Drew stands to inherit a fortune. Nancy's determined to find the rightful heir. Meanwhile, Ned Nickerson has invited Nancy to watch him in 'the big game' at Emerson College.

The two mysteries are given equal time (and a large share is given to football which is equally baffling and charming) as Nancy does some actual legwork in tracking down her namesake and her prime suspect in the mail-theft: a shifty half-brother of Mr. Dixon's.

There is a brief reunion with Helen Corning, Nancy's first friend, but she doesn't do much other than nap, fret, and dance. Despite this book being written by a new author to the series - a man named Walter Karig (that explains the football) - Nancy is still a rebel, chasing down leads and taking risks on the road. If she also enjoys a fancy dress ball and Ned's attentions, more power to her. Of course there is a reliance on coincidence, but somehow it doesn't get stale the way it has with some of the Hardy Boys.

Not one of my favorites but fun and expected approach but it’s ok.

Not the greatest or my favorite, but it was nice to see more of Nancy and Ned's relationship developed.

This installment had a great, strong beginning, but I feel as the story went on it just sort of fizzled out. I wish I had the opportunity to read this when I was in the targeted age audience, I feel that I would have definitely enjoyed them much more. I am relieved I only purchased the first eight books, because I don’t really think I could try to read anymore.

This story was definitely interesting. Nancy gets mixed up in a mistaken identity mystery. This is one of the books that really gives a 50s feel to the story, Nancy goes to a college together with her two friends Bess and George to be with their boyfriend’s, and that’s something quintessential 1950s, which I found really amusing. Not the best of Nancy Drew’s stories, but it was fun!

This story shares a similar style to other stories before the seventh book. Only the seventh book has a unique style and slightly more to the real life.
