Weightless

Kandi Steiner

3.9 AVERAGE

I’m usually not into YA or New Adult books but this was sooo good.

My first and certainly not my last Kandi Steiner book and I freaking loved it!!! Hook from the first page. I did not see that damn plot twist at all! I had to process what was going on. A must read!

People judged her. She judged herself. He didn't judge her at all, only himself.

When small-town, rich girl, Natalie, gets her heart broken by her first love, she realizes she's not happy with her size and more.
It was the first time in my life I fully admitted to myself that I wasn't happy. I wasn't happy with who I was. Or how I looked. Or how I felt.

She finds herself personal training with the local bad boy, Rhodes.
"Rhodes was an unanticipated thunderstorm. And I danced in his rain."

Willow is the best friend everyone wants to have! Her advice or "cliches" are golden!
"Ignorance is a blessing as much as it is a curse. You can't crave what you don't know exists"

This was a very good, hot, quick read with a twist. I honestly didn't want to put it down. I just wasn't sure the twist was needed, it seemed out of place. That is the reason for the 4-star review. Definitely worth a read though!

Reading Weightless was one of the best things I did this year, it's definitely one of the best things Kandi Steiner ever wrote. This was easily one of the best books I've ever read.

I had such a wonderful time reading this book, it made me feel weightless, something that I haven't felt in about ever.

The main character, Nathalie, was so easy to identify with, as were her problems. But it was so hard to actually identify with her, identify your friend circle with hers, because it was absolutely heart breaking.

I not only adored Nathalie, but I also loved reading about Willow, Rhodes and Mason, their weaknesses and their strengths, their good and bad sides, there was just so much diversity, but it was never, not at any point, too much.

Whilst this book had a lot to do with the psychological and physical consequences of being overweight, it still carried a brilliant plot that was as equally important.

Rhodes was so tragic to read, but as the counterpart to Nat he was the absolutely perfect piece in the puzzle that was Weightless.

I was very hesitant about reading this, having read other reviews and having heard so many things about it, mostly because Nat is someone that I see as myself, too.

I've read many books concerning overweight characters, but none, not a single one of them, has ever touched me in this way. It felt so honest and real and had me pretty much in tears from page one up until the epilogue.

If you have ever been in a situation concerning weight, too much or not enough, and you want to read a book that has so much substance that it'll blow your mind, then you're right where you are meant to be.

This. Is. It.

I really did like this book, and it almost brought tears to my eyes, Which is good. I can count on one hand that made me cry. It had depth, love, and valuable lessons.

Natalie or Nat, or my favorite bug, just got dumped by her first boyfriend. She goes to a party and her ex bf new gf says something about her weight. While she is a tab bit insecure, her insecurities sky rocket. Her mom doesn't help. She decides to get fit, and her personal trainer is Rhodes.

Rhodes is trying to keep it strictly professional. He is moody, broody, and a little mean. That how I like my hero, or anti heros.

I see a lot of complaints about the plot twist, I seen it, Not the extent of it, but it was there. I can't say it ruined the book from me. I expected something.

What I hate the most in books, is the back and forth, people who can't make up their mind. It bothered me in the book, but not like it thought it would. It was done well.

good stuff

I anticipated the big wow pretty early on. As a chubby gal now and in school this hits more fantasy....it's great in theory but probably never happen that way in real life.😪

Bit confused why so many people love this. Also, TW for sexual assault.

meh, with a dash of fatphobia thrown in.

4.5⭐️In my Kandi Steiner era and binging her backlist. This one is my favorite so far. Audio was amazing, story was gripping and watching the main character grow and learn to love herself was moving.

Read if you like:
-YA books
-Messy, angsty stories
-Romantic suspense
-Body positivity
-Bad boy/ good girl

Take a moment and dance in his rain

What a beautiful slow burn and journey of self worth. I've had this book for ages, but only got a chance to read it while listening to the audio at work. But I couldn't stop when I got home, so I picked up my e-copy.

Natalie and Rhodes find themselves together while both are questioning what they bring to life. Natalie feels like the DUFF in her world. Rhodes feels like he fails everything and everyone around him. The story begins with Natalie's high school sweetheart broke up with her after two years and started dating a "Barbie girl" only two days later. Her mother suggests a personal trainer and we're introduced to Rhodes, he's 4 years older and has had a hard life that most know nothing about. She's a light for him and he's her silent strength. I enjoyed their journey to seeing they are both worth someone's unconditional love. There were ups and downs, twist and turns, moments and big impacts.

I'm glad I finally got around to this story.
