More like bored to death, amirite? (ba dum tss) Bad puns aside, I originally thought the crux of my issue with this book was the extremely amateur audiobook narrator, but I'm not sure a better narrator could've fixed this book, the writing was just not great.

My gut told me to stop reading at the very beginning when the murdered subject is discovered by the MC with a whole co-witness/alibi present. The motivation for him to start his own investigation to clear his name completely manufactured in his mind. There was zero indication from the police that he was possibly considered a suspect, and his weird belief that the police were going to arrest him bc he was convinced they thought he had the most motive (?? did you though, my guy?) -- DESPITE HAVING A CORROBORATING WITNESS THAT HE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT -- was unfounded and the entire book fell apart from the start. I decided to suspend my disbelief and hoped that the mystery unfolding would make up for the flimsy premise but by the 75% mark I was over it. Who cares who killed that guy my dude, I promise no one thinks you did it.
