The fogged storytelling was slightly better in this book, but still there. I still jumped to assumptions. The writing felt more natural/less choppy on this book than the first one.
What I struggled with in this story is the complete change in the main character's love interest(s) and her emphasis on the type of love she felt. It was quick and weird and I struggled to understand what her change of heart was rooted in. It kept the story moving, but felt clunky and weird.

„Obwohl ich alles habe, was ich je wollte, mehr, als ich mir je hätte erhoffen können, wird sich ein kleiner Teil von mir immer wünschen, du hättest dich für mich entschieden.“

I went into this series with little knowledge of what they were about. Just very few bits and pieces I have seen on social media.
I finished this book in a day. It emotionally wrecked me. I loved the book and yes there are a lot of parts of this book I didn't like at the same time. So, let's talk about it.
ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀꜱ:
Cecelia: There are times I loved her, time I wanted to hold her and not let go, and honestly times I couldn't stand her. She has a good heart and wants to do right by the people in her life. The constant begging to be loved, to be seen, to be heard was heart breaking and annoying all at the same time. She constantly had to beg for the men she only just met to not leave her. Yes, she fell hard, and that summer was life changing, but I wish she knew her worth a little more.
Sean: I really did not like him throughout book one, his attitude towards life annoyed me, the way he spoke to Cecelia at times I hated. He just flew through life not caring, and demanding things from her that he couldn't give back. From the beginning I felt like something about the way he was to her was off.
Dominic: I loved Dom from the beginning. He didn't like Cecelia and did everything to drive her away, but he knew he didn't hate her. He slowly let her in and fell in love with her. He tried to hide his feelings, but he couldn't. All he wanted was Rainy days with her.
Tobias: I am the lover of Villains, the one who roots for them to get the girl. The misunderstood angry man who is trying to burn the world down. He wants revenge for his parents, for all of the people being wronged by corporate greed. He doesn't feel he deserves or should have the love of a woman. But he let himself slip and let himself have a taste of what his brother had.
ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ:
This story has so many working parts, so many secrets, so many parts hidden in dark corners. You are fed bits and pieces of the truth and lots of that truth you have to put together. I loved the tender moments between these men and Cecelia but hated the secrets they kept from her. The way those lies tore everyone's world apart. I loved seeing Cecelia come back to Triple Falls to try and get answers, to stand up for herself and face her past head on. She puts her foot down doesn't just fall into the easy life she could of have. She came for answers.
Qᴜᴏᴛᴇꜱ:
" We love rainy days don't we baby" - Dominic
" We both knew I was never going to make it to thirty, brother. Take care of her" - Dominic
" Your heart is not your weakness, Cecelia. It's mine " - Tobias
" I'm losing my fucking mind and you're the reason." Tobias
