I don't know why I thought there was a chance this series would get any better. If anything, Cecelia became even more insufferable than she was in the first book. I was surprised by who the Frenchman turned out to be, I can say I wasn't expecting that. Even more, Cecelia's like immediate attraction to the guy - even though she spent an entire book pining and whining and crying over Sean and Dominic. I read the part of this book that everyone says is suppose to break you and yeah it was sad, but because I felt zero connection to the characters it wasn't that bad. I was more upset about Lilith Sorrengail - and that's saying something. The second half of this book was a borefest. It was literally page after page after page of her one stop shop pity party. And the way she acted when she went back, made her seem desperate AF. I think the time lapse was way too long for what the author wanted for this book. Six years is way too long in my opinion. They weren't together long enough to spend six year apart and just yeah. It was too much. Cecilia was a shit person from beginning to end and any male that had that the unfortunate pleasure of meeting and being with her - she ruined them all. Because of a few months years before. The "plot", what little plot there was to begin with - disappeared altogether in this book.

I will say, I did like the way she reconciled with Sean. That was a piece of her that needed to be healed and their goodbye was sweet. But that's probably the only nice thing I'm going to say. Ugh. Insufferable FMC.

SUMMARY: Picks up immediately where Flock ended. Who is the French Man? Where did Sean and Dominic go? Did they ditch Cecelia or are they in hiding? Do they still care about Cecelia? What will happen to their fledgling relationships? Will the French Man destroy everything the Ravenhood was working towards or destroy himself by succumbing to another's plans?

REVIEW: Exodus by Kate Stewart starts with the big bang that Flock, book one of The Ravenhood series, ended with and proceeds full speed ahead from there.

Exodus is full of so many twists and turns, secrets, double crosses and deceptions that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up with.

Tobias infiltrates all aspects of Cecelia’s life without her permission. His pushy interferences and high-handed decisions about who is allowed to interact with Cecelia drove me batty. I don’t appreciate bully characters so it took me a reallllly long time to warm up to him. Tobias' loathsome behaviors led the reader to assume he hated Cecelia but as the story unfolds, we begin to question all of his motives and feelings.

Cecelia continues to yearn for Sean and Dominic. Her chaotic emotions are a non-stop roller coaster rides with epically angsty ups and downs. She can't decide if she hates them for abandoning her or longs for their return. Their seeming willingness to stay away and have zero contact with her feeds Cecelia's inner dialogue that she's easy to leave and unlovable. Despite the negative self-talk, Cecelia is sassy and fiery during her interactions with Tobias. She tries to be a strong FMC and second guesses Tobias at every turn. She does her best to keep her feelings out of all their interactions and treat him as "only business". The last thing Cecelia wants is to give in to her "sickness" of having an easily manipulatable heart that falls in love at the drop of a hat. Loving, even simply liking, Tobias is a non-starter she avoids with as much stubbornness as she can muster.

As always, I adored the narration by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. They are two of my all-time favorite narrators and are pure perfection when they are paired together.

The two twists that happen to propel the plot forward were HEART WRENCHING and had me gasping outloud with shock and emotion. I wanted to scream and rail at the book, bawl my eyes out while swearing a blue streak, or just plain ol' curl up into a little ball and think about the emotional damage the author inflicted on the unsuspecting, innocent reader. If I hadn't been listening to an audiobook, I would've chucked the physical books across the room. It was THAT much of a visceral reaction to what I was reading... It was almost too emotional for me to handle.

Unlike Flock, Exodus doesn't exactly end on a cliffhanger. However, my audiobook ended by sharing the first chapter of The Finish Line, which is book three of The Ravenhood series. The lead in of the first chapter of The Finish Line revels a plot development that makes you instantly lunge for next book so you could figure out exactly what the h3ll is going down.

Just like Flock, I highly recommend reading Exodus, book two of The Ravenhood series. It is a fantastically twisty read that has you questioning who to trust and who is holding the bigger secrets. Your heart will sing with love, be deliciously smashed, and beautifully put back together again -- but all while experiencing a devastatingly horrific blow that has you questioning if you'll ever recover. Like ever ever EVER recover... On to book three of the series, The Finish Line.

Never have i been so thoroughly wrecked by a book. I will never be the same again.

This book had me feeling so many emotions! I cried twice, but got put back together at the end

I dove right into this book after reading Flock. The first book made me so angry and broke my heart, but I had no idea what was coming in Exodus. It’s rare that a book makes me cry, but believe me when I tell you THIS BOOK had me sobbing and ugly crying for two days. I’ve never read anything like this, and I can’t believe I’m almost done with the series. MUST READ!
adventurous challenging dark emotional

I caved and started the Ravenhood series thanks to some very persistent friends. And wow, what. a. ride.I fell in love (multiple times), got my heart shattered, was in complete disbelief, deeply annoyed, and yes… I cried. Again.
And listen, I disagree with the author, one particular event DID NOT happen. I reject it with my whole chest.
Because I think my reading reaction reel speaks for me, there you have it, my emotionally unstable journey through Exodus : https://www.instagram.com/p/DJt46pKI7Bk/
