Expect to fall in love with Claudia Burgoa. No matter how much it's expected your emotions never see it coming. Didn't Expect You is simply that good. Nate and Nyx are at a crossroads. Take the road less traveled and paved with heart or stay on course with the dreams they have planned. With just the right amount of heart and unpredictability, Burgoa creates a magic moment, no reader will soon forget.

After reading the first part of the series, I couldn't wait for this one. Both Chadwick brothers hold a place dear to my heart. Didn't Expect You is Nate's story, who is known for being a playboy. I won't go into too much detail about the plot here, because the blurb really says it all.

Nyx and Nate are such loveable characters, which slowly grow on you more and more. They are such great individuals, but also work together so well. The bond they share and the banter they have are undeniable. A good plot will be nothing without even better characters, and the author did a fantastic job here. It's a well-written book, that takes you on a little journey and leaves you with a smile on your face.

Even though you could read Didn't Expect You as a standalone, I'd recommend reading book one, Wrong Text, Right Love, as well. It made my experience even better.

Nyx and Nate has the most beautiful friendship. Of course their siblings were dating and they didn’t want to make things awkward but this friendship watching it’s growth was so beautiful. Nate steppes in when Nyx really needed someone in her corner. Nyx also had his back when he needed someone in his corner. They both healed each other and it was refreshing. You also get to see that love between Nyx and her sister Perse, they are amazing. And the banter was also there with Nate and Ford. Nyx family was still hilarious and they embraced these two brothers that had a completely different upbringing into their madness with a smile on their face. Loved it!!!

Nyx is a workaholic, with a life plan and certain goals and deadlines that she wants to achieve. Nate was badly hurt by his ex-fiancee and after a string of one night stands is feeling unfulfilled. When Nyx and Nate meet, her sister is dating his brother, they share a fun banter, but are warned by their siblings not to "go there".
When Nyx's perfectly planned life starts to derail, Nate steps up as a friend, despite his ever growing feelings for Nyx. Nate looks after Nyx through terrible sickness, sadness, anger and as they settle into a routine both realize that this could be so much more, but Nyx cannot embrace those feelings until her life is less complicated. This is a wonderful story of friendship, caring, respect and witty banter.
I loved this story.

I love me a surprise baby book, even if this is not the typical 'surprise baby' you're thinking.

We met Nyx and Nate in the first book in the series Wrong Text, Right Love and I had hoped we would get their story. Claudia Burgoa did not disappoint!
Nate is very different from his brother Ford. He is funnier and more open than Ford's closed off, grumpy demeanor and I loved that.

He and Nyx have an amazing relationship. Starting off as friends who joke around to steamier endeavors even if it takes a while. The slow burn was worth it though.

I highly enjoyed reading about Persy and Ford in this book also. A sneak peek into what happened after their book.

I do recommend this read and I'm loving this series so much! Can't wait for what's coming next!

DNF (soft?) @ 39% because Nate deserves better and I have major trust issues. unpopular opinion: while I'm fine with pregnancy tropes, it's just too convenient for Nyx to suddenly fall in love with the hottest, **richest** bachelor in all of whatever state they're in, after finding out she's jobless and no baby daddy at home to support her. sis, you sus AF

This was the most underwhelming book ever, the vibes were giving weird and the final resolution was rushed and we didn't even get to see it (not that I wanted to read more about this honestly).

I'm starting to think that maybe getting every free book that I find in kindle might not really be worth it, nobody is gonna give me back the time I spent reading this (literally, WHY did I finish it?).

What I DIDN'T EXPECT is ANYONE giving this 5 stars. A 1,5⭐
