After a one night stand Nyx is now staring at the two lines on a positive pregnancy test. She is convinced she can do this alone, but then enters Nathaniel Chadwick playboy billionaire with a love for adrenaline. Despite being warned to stay away from Nyx he can’t help but want to be near her. Nathaniel was the sweetest person to Nyx, and wanted to protect them both. Their chemistry though was off the charts that it gave me goosebumps. This definitely is a must read if you love a hot billionaire who wasn’t expecting to find his forever. Add it to those good reads.
I loved Claudia Burgoa's "Didn't Expect You," a charming, funny, and sweet story that featured endearing characters, a well-crafted slow burn romance, and a unique twist on the surprise pregnancy trope. The flirty banter between main characters Nyx and Nate was a lot of fun, and their instant chemistry had me on the edge of my seat just waiting for them to finally give into their feelings. When they did, it was totally worth the wait. They both had commitment issues that posed a challenge to their eventual HEA, but Nate's were particularly troublesome. I really admired the fact that he took the time to go to therapy and work through those issues before pursuing a relationship with Nyx.
The secondary characters in this story were just as likeable as Nyx and Nate themselves, particularly Nyx's sister Persy and Nate's twin brother Ford, the couple featured in the first book of this series. I haven't yet read their story, but I will certainly be doing so in advance of the release of book #3! I also loved the crossover appearance by Pierce Aldridge from Burgoa's other ongoing series, the Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers. I'm even more excited to read Pierce's story now than I was before!
I've only read a few of Claudia Burgoa's books so far, but she is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. I highly recommend "Didn't Expect You" for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy and look forward to her next release.

I very much enjoyed this book. These characters were very well written
This was a question of stayiing with a series because I am already familiar with the characters. I know the quirky family after reading the first sister's book and this one pairs the familiar characters together. It was a quick fun read.
Hallmark channel in a book
I absolutely fell in love with Nathaniel Chadwick. Nyx Brassard is the glue and unofficial parent of her siblings. I felt like a was reading a Hallmark movie, that swoony feeling we get for the hero being everything we need and never have to ask for. I loved Nate and Nyx's conversations. The Brassard family is definitely unique and entertaining. When I got the end getting that happily ever after was all emotional.

Didn't Expect You is unlike any romance I have read before. I truly love the way Nate doesn't push a relationship on Nyx, instead choosing to be there for her in every way possible when she needs him the most. With Nyx being in a situation where starting a new romantic relationship is not a good idea, a true friend is what she needs. I absolutely loved the way Nate took care of Nyx.
I loved the way these narrators brought the characters to life. Having different narrators for some of the secondary characters helped to deepen the experience of listening to this story.

I really enjoyed this book! Another great addition to the series! I was hooked immediately and pretty much read it in one sitting! I will say it was a definite slow burn! I did enjoy watching Nate and Nyx’s relationship form from a great friendship. While this book did have its slow build up Nyx’s parents humor and shenanigans made up for it! I would absolutely recommend this book!

My first experience of [a:Claudia Y. Burgoa|7202946|Claudia Y. Burgoa|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1535764387p2/7202946.jpg] was the novel that precedes this one in the Against All Odds series, [b:Wrong Text, Right Love|53185117|Wrong Text, Right Love (Against All Odds, #1)|Claudia Y. Burgoa|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1589457408l/53185117._SY75_.jpg|80149966]. Each novel stands completely alone from the other, but I absolutely adored Wrong Text, and would highly recommend that book as much as I do this one.
Because this book was just as delicious as the first book in the series. Said series follows siblings Persephone, Nyx and Eros (their parents are slightly quirky!) as they go through challenges, find their forever person, and live their happily ever afters. Persy’s story is [b:Wrong Text, Right Love|53185117|Wrong Text, Right Love (Against All Odds, #1)|Claudia Y. Nyx is the boring, dependable one in the family. She’s sensible, she plans and she keeps her wilder siblings in check. Yet recently, she’s been looking for some excitement in her life. She might not be a fan of her organisational tendencies but I fell head over heels for her and her smart and sensible ways. I love a fellow list-lover! And Nyx was far from boring. She might not be as extroverted and wild as her sister and brother, but she was odd in her own way and so much more interesting than she gave herself credit for.
Nate. Well - at first he started off like you would expect anyone billed as an adrenaline junkie, playboy to. Then he started to reveal his layers. His baggage and the reasons for the way he acted and thought. And the reasons he thought he needed to ‘fix’ himself before he would be worthy of Nyx.
And that’s where the magic of this novel happens. Both Nyx and Nate are aware of their attraction to each other - but circumstances, meddling family, unexpected pregnancies etc etc - kept them both from taking that next step with each other. As such, this is a pretty slow burn tale, but it’s a subtle burn, too. You watch all the little things that the pair do for each other. How they are perfect for each other and balance each other out. Before you or they realise it, we have love. And you will believe it. If you’re anything like me, you’ll get a wee bit sappy over it.
You’ll also laugh. A lot. I surprised myself by getting a little sniffly only to find myself laughing out loud (actually out loud) in the next sentence. So you get real love, real emotions and real laughter. Is there anything else you need in a romance?
As with the first book, the writing style really pulls you in, and you feel invested in the story from the first chapter. I also felt that there was a great lesson in the story - but not in a special edition of Saved by the Bell kinda way. It just made you think - about your own life and what’s important to you.
My delight with [a:Claudia Y. Burgoa|7202946|Claudia Y. Burgoa|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1535764387p2/7202946.jpg] continues with this smashing book. I loved it from the first page to the last, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun story with just enough depth, angst and deliciousness. Definitely another winner. 5 stars.

SKIMMED. I tried to read a couple different titles by this author. I started this one after the one about the sister (Persy)who’s an influencer just didn’t take off for me. These books just aren’t a good fit for me. I did like Nix and Nate but I never got engaged into the story. I was just trying to give the author’s books a fair trial but it’s a no go. No chemistry.
As rushed as I felt the end was in the first book, this entire book felt hurried. There could've been more substance, attraction, draw between the two. It just didn't seem very fleshed out and left me feeling if only the author waited and took her time, she could've developed a really great connection and story.
