It was different for sure. Yet, the story line is alright. Need to know more about Agatha Christie to understand the references that were mentioned.

There was not a lot of fast moving parts. It’s more of a listen and learn kind of book. There’s no action, considering Osla is a code breaker. But it gives you an idea of what it was like for the women of that era: good enough to crack codes but still not seen as equals amongst the men who were going off and fighting in the war. But that doesn’t make women any less important for their roles in helping fight. They might not have been in the gun fight, but they were certainly putting their lives on the lines!

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I really had a good time listening to this. I knew a little bit about Christie and a little bit about the code breakers which gave me context. The conjoining of the two was interesting and entertaining.

It was a short quick little read/listen. It took me a bit to realize just who the main character was supposed to be but once I did everything clicked together much better. All in all and interesting story.

I so want Kate Quinn to write/collaborate to write more of these short-form pieces. They are a delight. This one is especially satisfying because of the direct cross-over with her book The Rose Code.

Fun novella featuring characters from Kate Quinn's The Rose Code & Marie Benedict's The Mystery of Mrs. Christie.
