appreciate the disability rep…but there’s too much going on and also i’m very confused by how British schooling systems work

Quick, cute, and full of heart.

First things first, I really liked how different CJ and Penny were - it made for some great tension and meaningful growth. The “wheelchair wheelies” scene was easily my favorite scene: it was intimate, honest, and just very playful and fun. I only wish there had been just a hint of more romance in that moment.

My only gripes were that the writing did feel a bit “tell-y” and repetitive at times, and some things wrapped up a little too perfectly. But for a debut, it’s a sweet story with a lot of charm.

A very easy read. Some of the story line was similar to another book I'd read recently, but the setting and characters were quite different. I like that it highlighted what it could be like living with a disability and the thoughts and feelings that go along with that.

What an absolutely charming story! I love Love, and this book hits all the feel-good pieces of a new relationship. Plus, the author handles disabilities with thoughtful representation. A must-read for romance readers!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. This was a sweet and lighthearted read with an easy-to-follow plot and a charming premise. I did find myself wishing for a little more depth and growth from the characters, as well as a touch more complexity in the storyline, as the conflict felt a bit rushed. The emotional intelligence on display led to plenty of open and heartfelt conversations, though at times these became slightly repetitive. The overall tone and style felt more YA than New Adult, which may suit readers in the mood for a gentle, low-stakes romance with a wholesome feel.

Title: The Chemistry Test
Author:  Georgina Frankie

Rating: 3/5

This was a sweet read. The banter between CJ and Penny made me smile. The romantic gestures were leg swinging and it was just a wholesome, "clean" coming of age read.

I found the disability representation validating and made me look at things a little differently. We all experience our own illnesses in our own unique ways,  but I found Penny's ted talk spoke to me a little bit as well.

A few of the experiences made me smile and bought me back to my own memories of university life.

You'll love this book if you like;
- representation of disability and mental illness
- disabled FMC
- coming of age romance
- no spice
- swoony gestures
- banter
- college/University romance
- there's cats in this book!!
