This book was amazing to say the least and the ending left me broken.

Read in a day. This is a true enemies to lovers story because they are still enemies! Jude and Cardan and both so duplicitous. I hope that eventually they both work on the same side.

This was a roller coaster of emotions 🎒. We got more action in this book than the other one which I love 😍. But by the end I wasn't sure whether to cry 😒 or scream in anger πŸ’’
When I tell you that I was so mad at Cardan for the stunt he pulled at the end of the book 😀😑.  I was like" Are you serious right now!". When will Holly Black stop making everyone around Jude untrustworthy. I really hope that Cardan has a good reason to exile Jude. I was starting to kinda forgive Taryn, but when she betrayed Jude again made me foreverhate her. Why did the Ghost πŸ‘» have to be the traitor 😭😭. I loved him so much πŸ’”
I wanted to throw the book across the room, but the I remembered it was a library book πŸ˜…. It was still my favorite book so far in the series even after all...that, because I loved the Jude and Cardan moments as well as all the angst 😊

I got through this one much faster than the first and I think that speaks for itself given my rating of the first.

Holly Black should try making the first half of her books as interesting as the last parts. This book has about 315 pages but the dull writing at the beginning made me feel like I was reading one of my research papers.

It is one of these books with dull characters yet some bits of interesting lines like this one :

β€œI hate you,” I breathe into his mouth. β€œI hate you so much that sometimes I can’t think of anything else.”

Still that's nothing exceptional since the writing was slow.

Jude is surrounded by fools, Taryn is still a big deception (please avoid having a twin) , Cardan is probably planning something because that ending did hurt and he was a useless and bland king, Madoc is still a conflicting parental figure, Nicasia please shut the F up and I need Locke dead.
