This book seemed to drag in the fist part when the family was trying to reunite. I'm hoping this is just one of the awkward transitional books, however. The story does progress. It was just frustrating to see them dither about their missing mate(s).

The book's addictive nature is its most notable trait, making it easy to get hooked despite some of its flaws.

One positive aspect is the noticeable improvement in writing quality from the previous book in the series. The author has made strides in developing a more polished and engaging style, which enhances the reading experience. However, this improvement in writing doesn't fully compensate for the other elements that fall short.

The plot is another mixed bag. While it's engrossing and keeps the pages turning, it lacks the depth and complexity that more discerning readers might look for. The storyline bears a strong resemblance to the "Bonds That Tie" series, which might appeal to fans of that series but also means it suffers from a lack of originality.

In summary, it’s a book that many will find enjoyable for its improved writing and addictive storytelling, but it won't stand out in terms of plot innovation or depth. It's a suitable choice for those looking for an easy, engaging read, but it may not satisfy those seeking a unique or profound literary experience.

I liked how the author switched to using dual-POV for each of the characters in this book.
This book had the most spice out of the series.

Well second book in this series, and we finally got some answers, and also a ton more questions. I still feel like the series had quite a lot of plot holes, and the FMC still gives me slight pick me energy, but I'm also still enjoying the hell out of the series.

We finally get to explore the relationships between the FMC and her men. The spice went from none to a lot in this book, which was great! I do feel a slight unevenness in the why choose, which I hate. I feel like Jax gets way more attention and also demands a lot more attention. And his personality is overruling a lot of the other men, which I hate when that happens. And I feel like Rion is getting the least attention. I hope that changes in the next book.

The aspect of the FMC powers and background is interesting but also again, a lot of loose ends and plot holes. I'm hoping the last book in the series helps tie all that up.

But again, despite its flaws and all my questions and gripes, I'm still digging the serious and chugging along devouring it.
