Picking up an Amy Poeppel book is like picking up a burst of joy and all of the good things. I’ve read all of her books and she has become an autobuy author for me.

Far and Away was another fun, sweet, laugh-out-loud journey. This one took us across the globe when the Holt’s and Van Bosse family’s unforeseen circumstances force them into a house swap to beat all house swaps.

I loved learning more about Germany.

The characters as always, were so fun and unique, beautifully developed and they all served a purpose and helped moved the story along. The plot was engaging and Poeppel’s writing envelopes you without suffocating you or overcomplicating the story. What I admire most about her writing is the ability to have these plots and subplots and having them all come together beautifully. It is evident that she has great skill and takes great care to not make a mess of it and honor the story and characters.

Amy Poeppel has another winner on her hands and I recommend this for fans of Emily Henry, Courtney Walsh, and Clare Pooley. There a bits of german phrases throughout and I did have to use google translate but it did make it that much more fun for me to read.

I’d like to thank NetGalley, Emily Bestler Books/Atria for my ARC in exchanged for an honest review.

Not sure I heard about this one so I went in without any expectations. I appreciated the stories of Lucy and Greta intertwining, and the nuance of Jack’s “misdeeds” with his algorithm (also, LOL, that would not kick a kid out of school). I also enjoyed that approx 0 people cheated on their spouses, and that absolutely no one made decisions that were insurmountable. Overall, I enjoyed this read once I got into it.

I really hope my goldfish brain doesn’t forget this book because I loved it so very much. The Holiday house swap found family vibes of my dreeeeams.

This book was interesting, heartfelt, but mostly stressful. The plot leans heavily on a cascade of chaos, where one thing after another goes wrong. That kind of tension felt relentless and exhausting. A lot of the conflict hinges on miscommunication, which I always find hard to accept in a contemporary setting. People are hopping on transatlantic flights with ease, but somehow can’t manage a single text or call? I found the two main characters frustrating at first, but they grew into believable and distinct portraits of two very different women. By the second half, I was more emotionally invested, and even softening to the earnest, feel-good ending. It’s not perfect, but it’s engaging enough. It would be a solid pick for a travel read if you’re looking for something light, a little chaotic, and ultimately heartwarming.

Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the advanced copy.
