In all fairness my rating may be tainted by my love for the books that I've read recently. It was good... I finished the first book, "Fallen" and may read the second, "Leviathan" at a later date, but I'm not really into it at this time.

The Fallen: 5 out of 5 stars! Loved this first book. I'm in love with the main character and I enjoyed all the introductions into the Fallen, Nephilims, etc. My heart hurt in those last few chapters

Leviathan: 4 out of 5 stars! Loved the adventure and the mystery in this one. It's great to see Aaron slowly growing into his powers. But I could have done without all the gruesome descriptions

I didn't care for this book at all. I thought it might be an interesting story about angels but more than anything, I was just left bored. I didn't feel any connection to the main character and I had to force myself to get through the first portion of the book. Who knows, maybe the second part is better but I have no interest in finding out given what I've read so far.

I get this was a YA novel but it seems written for a much younger audience than most YA stuff. It’s a super easy (in this case that also means boring) read. There’s a fair amount of errors that slipped through editing. Aaron’s character is 100% boring, absolutely no distinctive personality traits. They say in the beginning of the book that he’s bounced around from foster home to foster home because he is “an introvert with a bad temper,” but this ENTIRE book he is the most calm, mild-mannered kid. Might be a good read for a really young kid getting into the supernatural side of literature but if you’re anything above that reading level this will absolutely numb your mind. This book turned me into a serial paragraph-skipper

I got this book on a recommendation and decided to pick it up when I went to B&N. From the first page I was hooked. It wasn't the average YA novel filled with a sappy love story, it was interesting with characters who develop well throughout the novel. I love the relationship between Aaron and Gabe (who is after all a "complex being") and the inner monologs that Aaron has regarding his new found destiny. He doesn't just accept his supernatural powers, he is part human after all. After I finished this book, I ran right out and picked up The Fallen II - definitely hooked on this series!

Absolutely one of the best series that I have read that revolves around Angels. It was suspenseful throughout the entire series which is hard to do, but Thomas E. Sniegoski does is exquisitely! Love it so much!

Addictive. Though it is clasified as a "youth" book, it deals with some pretty harsh violence & adult themes (thought presented in a generally appropriate manner). I very much enjoyed it. AFter reading this one in about 2 days, I devoured the next two!

****CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS****

This book is a ridiculously slow read, which for having 6 books is not a good thing. The concept is great. I love supernatural books, but was highly disappointed in this one. I'm glad I didn't purchase the others. The book itself is not incredibly well written, lots of repetition with certain phrases and the story doesn't flow well which makes for a slow read. There seems to be little depth in the characters. Aaron was adopted but they killed off his parents in the first book, who does that? It would have been nice to get some history from them. It jumps between events with different Characters which can be confusing and since it takes forever for things to happen, you are left wondering "who is this character, and why are they important ".

Overall: Not worth reading, you can pass on this one.

strangely enough i think that i liked the movies better than the books which is really odd for me. the movies seem a lot less complex than the books and i find them easier to follow. I guess it's not impossible to have a better movie than book.
