Almost quit couple of chapters in because the constant references to Tom Holland and Avengers Endgame were so annoying to me, but it got better as things went on and I found myself getting sucked into the story. There are some genuinely tense moments in this but they're short-lived, normally getting resolved on the first page of the next chapter, but it's a short book so that's fine.  I like
Cara
a lot and her addition at the end of the book was nice. Some of the medical inaccuracies kind of bothered me but it's more of a me problem. I do admire what the author set out to do and know plenty of people who'd love this book

just finished reading this for the second time and i swear it got better. i love the storyline and the subtle build of the feelings. the plot is presented really well. one thing i will say though, some words are repetitive - later in the book i started noticing more of 'i did this, i did that' sentences, with not much variety between words or phrases. i love the book regardless though, i might buy it (the first and second times i've read it i've gotten it from a library).

I really liked the characters, they made my heart all squeeze-y

The beginning of the book gave me a lot of anxiety, mostly because I kept imagining what I would do in their situation, and I wasn’t sure if I could actually read this. But the anxiety went away as soon as they got on the road (I think knowing, from the summary, that people come after them in the cabin had me on tenterhooks waiting for that to happen and I couldn’t relax)
