THIS WAS EVERYTHING!!!!!! i am slowly realizing i'm a fan of postapocalyptic fiction with a romance subplot, and this one delivered. i was so invested that i finished the audiobook in less than 24 hours. there were constantly scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing because it felt like i was watching it on the screen. i would 1000% support this being adapted for tv!!!

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!!! It’s a gay slowburn romance with the added bonus of being post-apocalyptic. The vibes are just so good and the humour is perfect.

This is the most adorable yet absolutely gut-wrenching book I've read in a while.

I'm not gonna lie, when it started off talking about a "superflu", I was about to come out from covid and say NOPE I DO NOT NEED TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN. Thankfully, the whole population wipe out already happened, so no need to go through 2020 on steroids.

Now the characters. Andrew and Jamie. The romance. Need I say more?

****spoiler part***

i just have to say, how cruel of you, erik j brown, to do that to me at the end. to take my scene of perfection, my moment of confession, take it away because of some ABSOLUTE ASSHOLES (insert multiple other insults), and then DESTROY MY ENTIRE HEART NOT EVEN 10 PAGES LATER. I am flabbergasted, and I am destroyed.

This was a great post apocalyptic book. Jamie and Andrew are very lovable characters. The pace of the book is super slow even in a post covid-type illness kills everyone world and the southern USA stays bad even after 87% of the world’s population dies. 100% worth a read. I hope there’s a sequel.

I found myself pleasantly surprised by this one! Earnest and heartfelt, and with a sense of humor that grew on me the longer I read it.

(If you’re an audiobook person, I highly recommend listening to this one. The performances are really top notch!)
