This is an amazing book, that gives and STRIPS hope at a moments notice. Makes you feel deeply for the characters (minus a few of them for me personally). It is action packed, gory, very descriptive, and build the tension beautifully. I love Dean Koontz! The moral message is a great one, and very introspective one. The ending is absolutely PERFECT with only one loose end (but honestly the loose end isn’t bad AT ALL and the conclusion is easy to make on your own with your own personal bias/experience). Give it a read!

I had hoped I would have enjoyed this novel more. The beginning was promising, but I was expecting a darker turn, more symbolism. It was good until you find out what the "phantoms" are. Then it gets corny.

There are some mixed feelings on this book, and while I see some validity in the criticism I found this book to be pretty fun to read. The characters were fun and I really liked the story and mystery of it all. It’s not some profound piece of art but if you go in ready to have fun I think you will.
