I really like this episodic approach from an author's point of view. As a reader, I'm really eager for the next part!

I really did not like this one, which is so disappointing because I love the original series. I find the characterization of the men pretty OOC; even though
Spoilerthey don't remember her
they didn't treat Lera like this when they first met her.

The two most egregious instances in this book are when
SpoilerCoal fucking WATERBOARDS HER, what the actual hell
and
Spoilerwhen she's afraid that River is going to whip her and she's utterly petrified
. Those are her mates! I utterly hate it. Man, it made me upset just writing it down again. She's literally punished by her mates in a totally not-cute way, and I don't care what the story plot going is, I am not down for it.

This so hard, but in the most wonderful way

I am loving these novellas! I’m ready for Lera to know her worth in the quint, both as their fellow soldier and as their soul mate! But waiting to continue the story is torture!!

Yes! Finally connection! This installment was filled with the same and happiness as The Power of Five. We got to see Lera call in love with her mates and now, hopefully, we will see them fall in love with her in the coming installments.

Best addiction ever

Loved book 2 of the Academy series! Can't wait to see how this is all going to work out for Lera and her men.

Loved it!

I really love the interaction between Lera and her very very clueless men.
The emotions Lera goes through, you really do feel them alongside her. The despair, the heartbreak, the fleeting hope she sometimes has, only to be crushed a few seconds later.

Pacing and flow were good, a good balance between conversation and action.

The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors and yes, there is sex described (if that is important to you).

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and all in all I really like the story and where it's heading. That said, I feel this episode could have been a tad longer or could have more content. Not that it ended at a bad moment, but with only 100ish pages it was over too quickly.

This is another fast book since it is a novella. I just wish they could be longer but I get them. I'm afraid her men are lost forever.

A fantastic 2nd episode! I am just so excited for the next one! I need it yesterday! I cannot wait to delve back into this world and how she manages to keep each episode so drama filled I will never know !
