Exploration of religious trauma and growing up, with the first love in the mix. It's heavy, but not too much.

Dang.
First of all, going into this book, I expected a really emotional story, which I did get.
Did it make me cry? No.
Was it still awesome? Yeah.
The love story in this book is really heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the same time, and the exploration of these two characters is probably the main thing that makes you keep reading.
I dunno what else to say...I just really really enjoyed this one.
Oh. Also, the art is 100/100

chock full of angst! Blankets is a very quick read despite its almost 600 pages. I don't much relate to the life of a teenage boy growing up in a religious Wisconsin household, but it was still an enjoyable read.
