I am so happy that Terry Pratchett was able to write a final story about the witches of Discworld before succumbing to dementia that I am predisposed to love it. I acknowledge it has its problems--it is short. The subplots are not as detailed as they could be. Some parted read as sketches rather than completed scenes. But the characters I love are there and the hope for humanity is there and the acceptance of change and the inevitability of life and death is there and the gentle humour is there...all the things I love about these stories. I enjoyed seeing Tiffany Aching coming into her own.

The final Tiffany Aching book which is also the final Discworld book and the last book Terry Pratchett wrote. I really enjoyed seeing Tiffany’s character development across this series and in this final book as she tries to fill Granny Weatherwax’s shoes and come full circle to face the elves again. Just as ever Pratchett’s writing was funny and also thoughtful and it felt a little bittersweet reaching the end knowing that this was the end of such an iconic series from such an iconic writer.
