Might come back to this eventually, but it felt like someone put a trope-y YA book through a thesaurus.

Wow… this was the hardest book I’ve read for this year.
Only simply due to the fact that the words used were a higher vocabulary than I was used to.
Obsessed with the storyline and the concept of the higher society gave a dystopian version of the movie ‘Now You See Me’
Will definitely read the sequel Atlas Paradox

Finished it but honestly idk!!

Maybe I need to be into philosophy and physics but I was confused for a lot of the dialogue.

The last half of the book was good I felt the plot wrapping up but the ending was underwhelming

olivie blake has a way with words in the sense that she can make simple concepts seem complicated and that can either be good or bad.

my first language is spanish which is why i had lots of difficulty understanding what was going on in the first half of the book since that's when the magical theories and the magic system are sorta explained. i would've liked more elaboration on the magical powers each character had but sadly the atlas six is mostly character driven (and i usually prefer character driven books but yeah i just needed a bit more world building this time.)

the time travel concept was written quite well if i'm being honest. i'm not usually a fan of time travel in general but it was sorta easy to understand (i only say sorta because english is not my first language so i was having to take breaks between reading to look up words.)

the characters were written BEAUTIFULLY. like i mentioned before, this is a character driven book so we see their worries and their vulnerable sides quite often. without spoiling the book, we also see them start doubting each other, themselves and the society. it's very interesting seeing how they deal with their problems as characters with magical powers because they can easily get whatever they want but because that's too easy they find it boring and decide not to do that.

if you're wanting to check out fantasy books, i would NOT recommend starting with this one since olivie does tend to leave things unsaid and you can easily get bored of reading. however, if you're a regular fantasy reader and you want something interesting, definitely check this book out !!!!

some concepts were drawn out a bit too much but i get that olivie is setting everything up for the sequel. just keep that in mind if you do decide to read it.
