So tepid. So unhappy and unresolved.

I didn't want to be his eyes on my world. I wanted to be seen. I wanted him to see me with his own eyes. I wanted him to draw me.
There have been very few times in my life so far where I cannot express why a novel made me feel a certain way. I broke down reading the final page.

A story presented in vignettes between a girl, her hometown, and an artist. The atmosphere was captured in the writing but was just bland on some places. Her relationship with Sokcho, food, and her mother are what made this more compelling. I kind of got annoyed with our protagonist throughout her push and pull narrative but I guess that's how you can tell if her characterization is working. Quick read, cool premise.
