For me, it was a little slow in the beginning however once it got going, I very much enjoyed the ride.

It reads like a Tela Novela in the best possible way. This book had all the tropes. Girl from the Slums falls in love with Prince, and flirts with the Would be king. Enemies to Lovers, A trial of the fittest, and some really unlikable enemies. My one worry is about the would be King, I feel like I know where his arch is going to head and i kind of hate it for him. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I thought I wasn't in the mood for action/fantasy, but that changed quickly. I enjoyed Powerless immensely. It's more romantasy than I thought though I'm not complaining... I ate it all up, ESPECIALLY the chemistry between Paedyn and Kai .

The story concept was definitely interesting and it left me wanting to know what happens next, but the writing was very poor, specially the dialogs (and specially between Pae and Kai), and there were no plot twists: everything was quite predictable. 
All in all, not worth it.
