I made a mistake when I started reading this. I didn't go back and re-read the previous Wax & Wayne. The fight scenes were brilliantly executed, a lot of detail but not so much that it became too technical.
I cried at the end. Not deep gut wrenching sorrow, but a slow persistent ache that felt overwhelming.

As the final installment to Mistborn Era 2, I felt the endgame vibes since everything has started to interconnect. It was a bit hard to follow at times since so much was going on and every single character has a POV of their own of course you can never be sure who is and isn't important to pay attention to because they probably will matter a lot in the future.

I said that I enjoyed all of the endings for our respective characters and how their journeys came to an end in this saga. I'm not sure what my thoughts are on the entirety of Era 2 but I'm proud to say I am up to date with Mistborn now.

Probably a 3.5/5. Not as memorable as the ending to Mistborn Era 1 but still a fun ride. Curious to see where we go next with this series.

I had to reflect on this one before reviewing. After working through the big feelings and the book hangover this one gave me, I've decided this is certainly the best book in Era 2 of Mistborn. I'd have liked to see a bit more, but I'm sure there will be flashbacks and glimpses of the past in Era 3. I enjoyed the view into other worlds and magic systems in the Cosmere, and the characters grew and developed more in this installment than in the rest of the Era combined (which may just be a natural result of the time jump). It definitely got me in my feels, over Wayne of all people, but it was pretty solid.
