Thank you to Penguin TeeI for sending me this ebook through NetGalley to review. War Girls completely blew my mind. A story of the Nigerian CIvil war set in the future that kept me entranced the entire time. It was packed full of emotion and action. The characters and plot were extremely well developed. Everything about this book was excellent.

Wonderful writing and world building, it took me a little while to get into, but I think that might have been a me problem more than a book problem.

So, this is really good. I really really like it. But for now, I don't really plan on reading the second book. Maybe my mind will change later on in the year. But for now, I'm gonna give this duology a break.

Part 1 was really great, but Part 2, pacing was an issue. I think the focus on war vs the futuristic elements was a battle. The writing is also not my cup of tea.

I enjoyed this book so much! You couldn't help but root for the main characters and loathe the antagonists. The way the lined blurred was done exquisitely. Get ready to feel all the feelings. I can't wait to read the sequel.

It took me over a year to finish this book.

I really tried with it but the pacing was just painfully slow, and there wasn’t much emotional draw to the characters for me.

The setting was interesting and the last few chapters had more going for them in terms of action/emotion.
