I really like Sloan and the vulnerability she shows in this story, especially with how cocky she was in Don't Stop Me.
And I loved Lillian, I love how she (and Nyx while I'm at it) doesn't take shit from Sloan and calls her out at every turn. Her anger is palpable.
This story definitely is the least wildly dramatic of the Club Pétale books, but is definitely one of the more emotional ones. It doesn't dance around the fact that they're step-sisters, it faces and struggles with the subject directly.
I hesitated with reading this one purely because I personally am not into the step-sibling taboo of this, but I will give credit to the distance the author makes by having Lillian and Sloan be of different racial backgrounds, as it solidifies their lack of blood relation which made me feel slightly less weird about reading this
