I just couldn't get past the stereotypes and broad brush generalizations in this one.

While the mystery plot in this book was not as strong as others in the series I enjoyed the Natchez Trace Parkway setting and the developments in Anna's personal life. Listened to the audio version read by Barbara Rosenblat who always brings this series to life for me.

My wife and I drove the Natchez Trace Parkway in the spring of 2000. We recommend driving it in the spring when the dogwood is in bloom. I read this book in 2002, 2 years after I rode the trace, and shortly after I retired. Both my wife and I enjoyed this series and we recommend it to National Park and mystery fans.

Interesting places where the story takes place, and much of the writing is beautiful and even lyrical. But the story was slower and less interesting than her other books.
