Haig's writing is good in the sense that it is not amateur structure filled with cringy dialogue. However, the story is not captivating for me and I have too many other books to get to. I liked his book The Midnight Library better.

This was a bit darker than I expected (I had expected light-hearted and whimsical) but still an entertaining story. The concept of non-practising vampires was unique.

I really like the author’s writing style and the short chapters did make this a breeze to read.
