Každý den se šest bratrů mění v jeřáby.
Dívka nesmí vydat ani hlásku, dokud nezlomí kletbu.
Nepřipomíná vám to něco?

Přidejte k tomu ještě magii, draky, domluvený sňatek, to vše zasazené do asijského prostředí a dostanete nádherný srdceryvný retelling.

Princezně Shiori v žilách koluje zakázaná magie. Doposud ji dokázala skrývat, jenže pohár přeteče a všimne si toho její nevlastní matka Raikama.

No joke. I read this book under 24 hours!! I stayed up until 3 am (even though I had work in couple of hours) just to read more of it.

The book is what I always wanted in a fantasy book! The world building! Which includes a map! And the sweet, heart warming romance between our main girl, Shiori, and Takkan. And the friendship-yet also growing feelings that Seryu has to Shiori!!! The love triangle I swear! My heart cannot handle!

It’s so fresh to read romances that are destined by fate and are built so carefully and written so beautifully by the author to really capture the growing pure love and the moments they have.

And the sibling relationships! I love the sibling bond that Shiori has with her 6 brothers and how it grew even more as the story goes.

And it also teaches us the importance of friendships and family.

The book was absolutely incredible, and I am very much excited and already want the sequel ughhh!!

I expected so much more! Why is this book so overhyped?

I love the Asian fantasy genre as a whole but some books can be so repetitive and the characters are sometimes either flat or feel like you've seen in another novel, this was one of them, but overall I liked that the geography wasn't too detailed and there weren't too many places or characters.

I really enjoyed this book! I lost track of time reading it and I thought about it when I wasn't. The setting was gorgeous and captured my imagination. The magic system made sense and added some nice flavor to the setting without overpowering it. I LOVED Shiori as a character. She was flawed without being unlikable, and her growth felt authentic. The story also left room for her to continue to grow, which makes me feel like she'll have another good arc in the sequel. Her brothers were very likable, and, though we could've spent a little more time with some of them to flesh them out, they still felt real. Takkan was a GREAT love interest. Each twist in the story felt believable, and though the book could've lived without the
Spoiler 'Natasha is Guiya' twist and just stuck with 'Natasha is the real villain - well actually the Wolf is the real villain -
twist, it wasn't annoying. I was really glad the story didn't end up
Spoiler demonizing the stepmother, (which is a very tired trope) and instead simply used a misdirect, though I thought it would've been more compelling to have Raikama try to figure out how to live authentically as herself after everything that had transpired.
Still, the route we end up taking with her instead is also pretty emotional and satisfying, if a bit short. Looking forward to the next book!

What a captivating book!! From start is was an beautiful writer novel, I really enjoyed Shiori relationship with her brothers and her journey. Romantic relationship was amazingly paced for me. I'm excited to see where Lin is going to take characters in next book.
