This is my favorite cozy mystery series. Once again Vivien has cooked up a fun little mystery and I love diving back into the character's lives.

I ended up giving this 3.25 stars on Storygraph. I normally hate the (very common) storyline in mystery books/shows where the main character is accused/suspected of the crime, but since this is a ~cozy mystery, nothing too bad happened. I thought the reason that the crime was committed (like the murderer's motivation) was sort of dumb, but I liked the murderer reveal even though she was acting kind of obvious the whole time. As always, there's not a ton of character development and this was a very plot-driven book, but I'm enjoying it anyway since that's what this type of book is generally like. I did like that some of the side characters were getting more screen time. I love Kimmy and I hope that she gets to feature more in future books! Also at this point, Lana needs to just open a PI company with her friends since people keep dying around her lol.

One more book and then I'll have to wait till this summer for #9 to be published!

My least favorite of the series so far. It was boring and predictable. The other books have had me second guessing myself until the end, but not this one.

i love kimmy! the supporting cast of characters are one of my favourite things about this series, so i always like it when someone gets a little turn in the spotlight with lana. the new minor characters that pop up with each new case are always well done too; the prick of a cop in this one was very punchable. had some of the same frustrations with lana, but not as much as the last book, and also all the kimmy action kinda made up for it.
