Fabulous. I devoured this series. And I’m so sad it’s over now tho I loved the ending. I honestly didn’t see *ha ha-get it* some of the twists coming like Alexander’s twin being alive and the bad guy? I truly thought it was going to be the bad guy controlling Alec that killed Salar. truly so good. Like nothing I’ve read yet and I’ve read a lot.

This was an absolutely glorious end to my favorite new fantasy series of the year. This was intense and heart wrenching, but I am so in love with it.
It picks up where Shadow Queen left off and it does not waste any time before conflict and battle begin. Norah continues to fight to unite the kingdoms as she battles to maintain her crowns. War continues to loom heavy on the horizon and Norah struggles to achieve peace across the kingdoms.
The story examines fate versus free will and sends a strong message about the power of inner strength to overcome. I am in love with all of the main characters and my only disappointment is that it is over, but I was left just wanting more.
I cried because I was sad and I cried because I was happy throughout the book. It did wrench my heart out of my chest a bit, but it was more than worth it.
If you haven’t read North Queen or Shadow Queen (Crowns books 1 & 2), I highly recommend that you go do that before War Queen is released on 8/29/2023
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Meh I didn't like this conclusion as much. No one seemed to be learning from the past or their mistakes and communication kept breaking down and our MCs kept making dumb decisions. It was weird to suddenly get more magic after two books with only seers.
I wanted more of Soren and his arc but simultaneously was very bothered by the undermining of fatherhood.
