The Art of Seduction was recommended by a partner of mines. I believe she wanted me to learn more about how to seduce but I ended up learning more about historical seducers that weren’t just seductive in a sexual way but seductive in a way that made people like you and follow you. I did listen to this via audiobook and I just want to shout out the narrator. His voice made the book and information all the more interesting.

I mean I am sure this works… but bro this is a bit far…

got a bit toxic towards the end but ig that's the point

Felt too manipulative and 'dark' for my taste. I liked the archetypes as I am a writer and like to use archetypes as jumping off points for characters, but when it started getting into the nitty gritty of the process of seduction, I reminded myself to the fact that I have a wonderful husband, and there is really only a narrow margin of the book reserved for political and social "seduction".
I really enjoyed the historical references to a certain degree, after which I started to feel that they were becoming repetitive.

There was nothing particularly wrong with this book to give it two stars except I had this sense that if I gave it three stars or four stars people might assume I was secretly a serial killer. This book is a strange topic and the language is hard to pin down. The author seems to make it a positive thing to manipulate and seduce others. I’m all about being effective in communication and persuasive but not at the level that others are at my mercy and helpless to resist me. Well…
