I enjoyed this book but also... Idk how I feel about it lol. For a little bit I struggled with whether the story was real or not which honestly I liked, but it felt like the ending never really came even though the book ended so abruptly. I wish there would have been more of a satisfying ending.

My first read of 2022 and it was phenomenal. Written by Richard Chizmar, this reads so much like a true crime novel (including photos) (nothing gory, though) that I honestly had trouble believing it was fiction. I was nervous to read it at first because of Chizmar’s close association with Stephen King (I cannot do horror) but when I found out the entire book is set in Edgewood, Maryland (about ten minutes from my hometown), he had me hooked. It was absolutely gripping and I couldn’t put it down! Five stars and an instant entry onto my “favorites” list. I highly recommend it.
