I listened to this and enjoyed the narration.. Kept forgetting it was fiction , so I think that's the sign of a well written book.. I loved the 80's feel I got from this and the small town vibes!!

Was originally going to give this book 2.5, but the ending just ruined it. I thought this book was going to be a masterpiece and just horrific and disturbing and a great crime/mystery book. I couldn't have been more wrong. It read like a cheesy B movie, the dialogue was so corny real people do not talk the way they do in this book couldn't stand it. It was like the author just wanted to use specific lines and wouldn't even consider how robotic they sound. The end of the book was so incredibly anticlimatic I ended up skimming the entire last 2 chapters. God, cannot believe I wasted like 5 days reading this. Will never read anything from this author again.
medium-paced
When I first heard about Chasing The Boogeyman I was intrigued and immediately downloaded the audiobook. It took a little while for me to get my head around what was happening when I started to listen to it. This book reads like a true crime novel, and the main character is the author. Such a unique premise and I ended up listening to it in a day. So well done and clever.
Set in 1988, Richard is in his hometown of Edgewood, Maryland when teenage girls start to disappear and turn up dead. Murdered. As an budding writer, his investigative mind sends him on a trail of the Boogeyman. Who is taking these girls and how is he doing it> All the girls just seem to vanish.
The authors note at the end of the book was such interesting and helped to put the story into perspective.
Thanks to Brooke @libraryofthebookish for having me on the #thrillerobsessedbuddyread
