Until the wedding it was exciting to read… After that it was a bit flat… everything went too fast, for example the war…. Or the r-rated wedding night ;)

I feel like this should have gone another few editing rounds. The main character is so childish and the converstations seem stunted. Her logic is completely absent. Its a shame because I was intrigued by the story but the delivery wasn't good for me.

This one was just alright to me. I enjoyed the world building and the action/adventure/politics part of the story, but even at the end I still didn't feel connected to the romance. It seemed like Filip went from "duty" to love out of nowhere and Aury eventually does the same. I actually think this would have been better if they DIDN'T ever actually fall in love and this had been purely fantasy, no romance.
I really liked the Princess Aurora retelling, but unfortunately, with the language slipping between modern and old fashioned, and some jerky storytelling/scenes, this book just couldn't hold my attention.
DNF. Could not get into this Sleeping Beauty retelling.
Her parents abandoned her to another kingdom because of a curse and didn't care that she was abused. They supposedly sent people with to "watch out" to her but they were only to interfere if her life was actually in danger. Now that they need her to fulfill her marriage to another kingdom so they can use their army they are suddenly there to collect her as if nothing is wrong. Oh, and she has powers as a water mage on top of it but they never manifested until the day her parents arrived? Convenient. I know it is young adult, but I could not get into the story or the writing.
