I don't have words for how I feel after this book. Well I do but I don't want to get banned from goodreads. Ma'am did you have to emotionally destroy me? I put the last 100 pages off because I was scared, and wow, Taylor, you got me deep in my feels.
I wasn't really sure what I was going to get here. Space travel isn't my favorite thing to read about, but Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favorite authors, so off I went. Watching Joan find herself as a woman, an astronaut, an aunt, a sister, and a friend was just amazing to see in this time period. As someone who hasn't faced these struggles, you can often forget how things were even just as recently as 10 years ago, much less 40. The insight into the struggles facing the LGBTQ+ community at that time was hard to read, so I cannot imagine how it was for those living it.
This ending, I am going to be thinking about it forever. Also, Barbara, you can eat my dirty gym socks.
