wow i feel like I’m gonna throw up like that was sickening

TJR perfectly captured what i imagine the absolute hopelessness of witnessing the person you love face potential impending doom and not being able to do anything to save them.

makes me really glad i didn’t live through the 80s bc it had me banging my head against the table like PLS JUST LET THEM LIVE THEIR LIVES AND BE HAPPY *throws up* but anyway i really connected with their love story and it felt like it put into words all the big unexplainable feelings that come with being queer and so deeply in love.

the book made me feel very existential at times so if thinking abt your place in the universe fills you will dread maybe don’t read this before bed. also the supporting cast was so large i kept forgetting the difference between all these white men.

also felt like i would have cared more about steve, hank, griff and lydia (i think thats everyone that was in the ship) more if we got to read about joan and vanessa’s relationships with them before witnessing them die or come very close to death
