Here's what I loved:
Tisaanah's purpose.
I loved how Carissa Broadbent brought out a character withher own goals, agenda, and drive. Tisaanah is internally motivated to save the people she left behind and will not stop until she achieves her goals--even if it means sacrificing everything.
Short chapters.
The format of Daughter of No Worlds is genius. I loved the short chapters and even the switch from a single POV (Tisaanah) to a dual POV (Tisaanah and Max) beginning in Part 2. The short chapters made the story move faster while also feeling like eating a favorite snack--you can't stop at just one!
Romantic tension.
Hoo, boy. The tension between Tisaanah and Max builds so well (especially around the 50%-52% mark and ALL of Chapters 60-62 when it culminates) that I kept thinking to myself, "THIS is how it's supposed to be."
The ending and Book 2 setup.
Way to leave it that way, Carissa!
Can I just say it?
Sarah J. Maas walked with ACOTAR so all these other authors could run. Carissa Broadbent gave us a vibrant and engrossing book with excellent storytelling, phenomenal characters, slow-burn romance, action, plot twists, suspense, AND a cliffhanger. What else is there to say other than Daughter of No Worlds is a perfect read for anyone looking for a new fantasy/romance series.
Overall, an insanely good opening book to The War of Lost Hearts series, and I can't wait to read the rest of the books!
