This was recommended as a book to read on the plane. Definitely good for that. A whole new world of crazy characters and so much talk about food. I imagine it would make a great tv miniseries. Fun read.

I enjoyed this book, though not as much as the movie (which is one of my faves). I loved getting more of Astrid’s story, and I loved all the different perspectives. I found Rachel to be very bland in the book compared to the movie. Overall a fairly enjoyable read, and I think I’ll read the next one soon.

Me siento como si hubiese leído una telenovela. Este libro muestra una realidad totalmente desconocida para mí hasta ahora: la de los excéntricos billonarios asiáticos, unos que derrochan todo lo que pueden y otros que prefieren no mostrar todo el dinero que tienen aunque son igual o más ricos. Las descripciones de algunos lugares y, especialmente, de la comida me gustaron, me llamaron la atención y hasta me dieron ganas de ir a probar esos platillos exóticos. En cuanto a la trama, es bien básica y la protagonista, Rachel Chu, que llega a este mundo por su novio Nicky se me hizo insufrible, lo que podría haber sido inocencia, tal como la pinta el autor es estupidez. Creo que, en este caso, la película puede ser mejor que el libro (no es muy difícil), así que la veré para comprobar mi teoría.
