holy shit. not quite a horror novel but I think maybe the most painful book I’ve ever read, though I’m not sure why.

the most beautiful and well written book I have ever come across. i read it in pretty much one sitting because I was so captivated by Machado's words and story telling abilities. it made me feel so many emotions and i constantly found myself re-reading certain phrases or sentences to really imprint them into my memory.

I borrowed a copy from a friend, but 50 pages in knew I had to have my own copy, as this is a book I will come back to time and time again.

Couldn't recommend it more highly. i thank deeply Carmen for sharing her story with us.
