I think bully romances may just not be for me. Stone was just a walking red flag, very toxic. I did like for all hi macho "protection" he actually ended up being the one saved. Pacing was uneven. The book's climax wasn't very long and then just jumps. We go from Wren being upset in the hospital, not knowing if Stone would make it out of surgery to them looking at a house together. I thought it was a dream. Also, no proposal DURING A HOCKEY GAME would ever happen. That's always an automatic no from me.

Enemies to lovers?
Yeah, this isn't what I would really consider an enemies to lovers book... acquaintances to lovers at best. The ending felt rushed in my opinion. Like there was a boat load of suspense with nothing really happening and then bam something happens and it's fixed in the next chapter. It felt uneventful.

I do not know why I loved this, I just did! Love the relationship between the two characters! Was spicy but not well-written! Dad is in prison and she was his drug cooker, enemies to lovers.
Wow! Sticks and Stones is such a great book! I started off by telling myself I was just going to read one chapter but less than a day later I'm done.
Years ago Wren ruined Stone's life. Now they're supposed to be roommates. They start off on the wrong foot but that changes pretty quickly when Stone realizes there's much more to Wren's actions and tough persona.
Stone is the guy! He's ultra charming with a quick wit and a gigantic heart that made me swoon page after page. And I just loved the way Wren took control of the situation with the roommate situation. She stood her ground and refused to be run over. Their witty banter was super fun to read and they kept it up through the entire book. I was also so in love with all of the supporting characters.
The story builds up slowly and simmers nicely, the emotions are really high throughout the entire book. I think this is why I could not stop reading.
I am telling you, Sticks and Stones will turn you into a hopeless romantic and a massive hockey fan.

The chemistry, spice, and tension between Wren & Stone is fucking fire!
What happens when you combine one of my fave authors, a co-author that is new to me and a hockey romance that is so freaking brutally beautiful? You get Sticks and Stones that Massery and Sylvis absolutely blew out of the park. It was intense, passionate, twisty and spicy! These enemies to lovers will take you on a wild ride and you will be begging to stay on it! The whole concept behind Wren and Stone is just wow but add how they are thrown together, even more WOW! Their push and pull banter, their intense chemistry and so much more wraps this story up in a pretty bow and you just want to admire it! This is one of my top reads of the year hands down!
