The god-bonds are uneventful for how afraid everyone was. They were a waste of writing.
We never quite get that reverse harem feel you’d expect. The hottest scene was Oli, Nox & North

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with this book. I really loved the rest of the series and had high expectations but the book didn't live up to them.
A lot of things happened that should've either taken place in previous books or not at all. And because they were introduced so late in the story they had no real impact. There were new bad guys that were supposedly extremely powerful but were killed like they where nothing. Also new magical lore was mentioned and it was supposed to be really important but was never really explained. There were just some flashbacks from the characters previous lives and some mentioned about old gods being reborn and that's it. Also I didn't understand why Sage's other bond was mentioned so much when his character had no real impact to the story.
Things just felt really rushed in general and there were plot holes still left open. Also “SPOILER ALERT” I don't understand why Vivian had to die. What was the reason of that happening? Especially given that he died off screen and had no real impact to the plot of the book. All it accomplished was to piss me off because yet again my favorite character died. “END OF SPOILER ALERT”
Also I think Nox was forgiven way too easily. I understand that he had gone through a lot of trauma but that was no excuse to act the way he did.
In general I don't think the book had any real reason to exist. It should've just ended when Davies died because in my opinion that was what the story from book one was working towards and now the fact that he was beaten feels almost insignificant.
