Yup, the series is still badass. While this volume was not as engaging as the last or, at least, strayed from the story line about the beauty disease turning against people, I still for sure will grab the next in the series. Still violent, still gruesome, still totally worth it.

New characters, interesting story but a whole volume without touching the story of the first volume is a little distracting. I hope I don't forget the different story lines before the next one comes out.

Had to read an interview to make sure we’d see more of the original characters but this prequel worked for me too!

The Beauty is a fantastic story and I'm glad that I finally took the time to finish this volume. It's a story that I will happily stick with.

Interesting story, but the premise of 'the beauty' is almost inconsequential.

If there's a volume 3, here's a summation. Don't read, because there will 100% be spoilers. This is for me.

Spoiler
Totally different story from the first; only possible connection is The Beauty. It opens with an assassin, Timo, completely wiping out group of people and then taking The Beauty in a pill form so no one can track him.
Switch stories to Ez, a trans assassin, given the task of dropping off some information and seeing a fellow assassin, Lucca, to a location. They have a long history, eventually fall in love, but Lucca is accused of killing another group. Their father figure, Parks, is murdered and Ez arrives in time to see Lucca killed. Timo comes in time and rescues Ez. They two kill the man responsible for the deaths of Lucca and Parks and vow to kill the rest of his cohorts.

This doesn't follow the first volume's storyline, but it's not bad. It was an interesting story with some fun new characters. I hope that in the volumes to come the characters all join up into a cohesive story, because I am more invested in the story from the first volume.

Will continue on with the series, because it is such a cool concept.

Um, okay. Way to completely drop volume one's storyline for something almost completely different. As cool as a female hitman character story was, I wanted more of volume one! Or at least two to be better connected in some way! Most likely will not continue with this series.

I really like these new characters and I want to see more of them. When you think about what will eventually happen to those who are infected with “the beauty” it makes this tale a bit tragic.
