I have to reread this to be able to tell if I think it was written well and other things like that. All I remember is that little me was wrecked, destroyed by this series. It shrouded my world with such a storm of blue, but I was attached to the Author and his trials. I was quite moved. I can't give it five stars because I have to re read, and also because I think my older adult mind has become afraid of feeling pain in this way. I know, dramatic...

An incredible autobiography of a man's journey and struggle through unthinkable hardships. It will amaze you what humans are capable of doing to an innocent child.

This book pained me to read. It was so hard to get through. I was always looking for a reason as to why David’s mother did what she did. The only reason I give it four stars is because there was repetition in some chapters but I think this was to highlight the importance of helping children that have gone through this. It made me so sad. I was happy for David by the end but was left wondering why did these things happen.
All in all, a very good book and brings attention to child abuse and how to help and spot signs in children.

My sister recommended me this book and I wish she never did. Not because it is a boring book, but because it is so so sad. I cannot believe someone went through so much pain and abuse and came out the other side a better and stronger person.

Reading the pain this person went through was so unbearable. I cannot believe someone can inflict so much pain and sadness on their own child. Although so many people visited the household no one opened there eyes and investigated enough so see what was truly happening, it was like no one cared. I cannot believe the system was so broken and lacking in effectiveness. It is disgusting really.

I am so happy this person was able to tell their tale, especially in so much detail. Not many people can. It is just so shocking that children still go through so much pain today.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, just please have the tissues at the ready.
