3 very sad stars
I was OBSESSED with this book, then I figured out what the twist was and it's my least favourite twist. A lesser author would have gotten a lower rating, but I still love Peter Swanson's writing. I enjoyed the majority of this, his books are so propulsively readable and he almost made that plot twist tolerable. I love the New England setting, even if it makes me miss it! A Lowell Spinners cap was referenced. I still have my 20 year old Spinners cap, sitting up here in a cold closet in Canada. Also there's a cute Maine Coon cat named Vinegar. This could have been 5 stars, I tell ya.
