Last night I got to watch meteors (actual meteors!) for the first time and it couldn’t have happened at a more perfect time. This book felt like a hug, a manifesto and a landscape painting all at once. Lush. Read this book!

I come into this with a lot of expectations - I continue to see people saying this is their favorite book or this is what made them love sci-fi. As someone who has read sci-fi since they were a child, this is only mediocre. It's pretty toothless and it's not original and the characters aren't that well drawn. It's fine but I don't see what all the fuss is about
