Está chistosito, me gusta que lo haya escrito usando arcaismos y el thy/thou/etc.
Es entretenido, aunque le falta muerte y destrucción. I mean, es un fic de una tragedia de Shakespeare.

I enjoyed reading this, although the language in the writing sometimes threw me off--a mix of Shakespearean English and modern English is probably why this is getting three stars, instead of four.

I think I enjoyed this, so I’m not sure why I never brought myself to finish the last 20%. I’m sick of seeing it every time I open good reads

Me ha sorprendido mucho este libro !! Me ha encantado!!!

The short lived and ill-fated ABC show a few years ago brought this book on my radar. I won't lie, I've never actually READ Romeo and Juliet, but I HAVE seen the Leo DiCaprio/Claire Danes movie...

Romeo and Juliet is far from being my favorite story, and so this book was just okay. It was nice to sort of get a vision of the aftermath and how the families proceeded (not well spoiler!), and I enjoyed the character of Rosaline.

This book wasn't the best thing I've ever read, but it certainly wasn't the worst. The Shakespearean speech that it's written in was a constant mind puzzle that I didn't care to figure out, but I enjoyed the "twist" and it was overall interesting enough that I was rooting for the slow burn romance.

So I was randomly looking for Romeo and Juliet retelling (as you do.) when I stumbled upon this one. It sounded kind of fun so I was like why not.
So entertaining! I would say this's a mash up of Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing, which is perfect in my humble opinion.

Just a really entertaining read. I might just be a Romeo and Juliet fanatic but who cares? I loved it!
adventurous emotional funny lighthearted medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: N/A
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

The banter between the two main characters is quite funny and engaging, the reluctant feelings, enemies-to-lovers vibe is sweet, the end always makes me sigh girlishly. Honestly, fuck the prince though.

The show shouldn’t have been cancelled!!

Okay okay so where do I start? Lets just start of by saying that I have never read Romeo and Juliet (shame on me). So that's one of the reasons why I only knew that both of them committed suicide and I knew that there was a conflict between their fams. That's it, that's the only information I had about Romeo and Juliet before starting this book. I'm glad that I can say that you do not need to read Romeo and Juliet first to be able to read this book (duh, Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet so it must be incompareable to a book written by a YA author).
Okay, moving on.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!! Honestly, I was grinning and smiling and giggling (I feel ashamed) and I couldn't put this book down because ohmygawd Benvolio.

First of all, the characters. Rosalina is such a funny, sarcastic but somehow serious/motherly and still a badass person. I mean, who would go running around in men's clothes just to be able to save a man in that time period?!?!?
And Benvolio...*swoon* such a gentleman but yet great in many ways. I mean, I could just see how much he would give up for everyone he loves. And he is loyal AF (just sayin'). Oh and he has awesome sword fighting skills ,which I appreciate cuz swords are cool okay.

The other characters were meh but Rosalina and Benvolio made up for that. so what.

The story takes place a few weeks after the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Things I liked:
-BENVOLIO
-Sword fighting
-It's in an Italian setting...duh.
-Badass protagonists
-Ignoring of declarations of love (HAH)
-And end-fight (cuz that's just something unmissable in a book like this)
-A clash between 2 families
-The keeping of a handkerchief thrown by a lady (TOO DAMN CUTE)
-The character development <3

Things I disliked:
-Prins Escalus (cuz he is messing with my ship)
-Too many young deaths (I am sensitve person okay?)
-No real development when it came to the love between the characters

Overall I would recommend this book to people who are hopeless romantics/like swordfights just like me.
And just to be clear, I did NOT GIGGLE AT ALL (okay, maybe I did)
